Devin developed a broad foundation of practical legal experience during law school that spans both advocacy in the classroom and work with practicing attorneys. As a student attorney with the SMU Dedman School of Law Criminal Clinic, he gained firsthand experience representing clients in the criminal justice system. He also developed his advocacy skills through SMU’s moot court program, researching and arguing complex legal issues ranging from Fourth Amendment protections to the Federal Tort Claims Act. His work in written and oral advocacy earned multiple awards for both advocacy and legal writing. This range of experience gives him a well-rounded perspective and the ability to approach legal issues with versatility and practical insight.
