Labor and Employment Litigation; Business Litigation
Mr. Iacuone represents a variety of clients in both employment and business litigation cases. His employment practice includes working with clients on all types of employment discrimination cases, as well as non-compete matters and executive compensation disputes. He also frequently counsels clients on complicated employment issues that may arise prior to their becoming full blown disputes. Mr. Iacuone also handles trade secret matters, and has obtained temporary restraining orders and injunctive relief in situations involving departing employees. Mr. Iacuone’s business litigation experience has ranged from handling contractual disputes for clients in a number of industries, including online dating services and a preeminent lighting manufacturer, to working on cases involving a variety of business torts.
Prior to joining Figari & Davenport, Mr. Iacuone clerked for the Honorable Richard A. Schell in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Mr. Iacuone’s judicial clerkship experience provides him with a keen understanding of how courts work and substantial procedural know-how. To this end, he has played an important role on case development and trial teams, including successfully crafting dispositive motions and appellate briefs in federal and state appeals courts. Recently, Mr. Iacuone achieved a complete defense verdict for his insurance client in Montgomery County Court, successfully defeated a special appearance by a New Zealand corporation following a two-day proceeding in Dallas County Court, and obtained a temporary restraining order in Harris County District Court against his client's former employee for misappropriating confidential documents.
In the Summer of 2007, Mr. Iacuone briefed and argued a complicated jurisdictional issue before the Dallas Court of Appeals. His clients appreciate his responsiveness and understanding of their businesses and objectives.
